In St. Louis, At The Fair
Author(s):
Shubert Fendrich
The St. Louis World Fair in 1904 was a scientific marvel. Newfangled inventions were introduced: autos, phonographs, kinetoscopes and many more... including the world's first great outdoor lighting display. This musical comedy captures the wonder and excitement of those bygone days, while using the memorable music of the period. The story revolves around Dick Williams, the young electrical engineer who is preparing the fair for its gala opening, and Rose Harris, who is working at the "St. Louis Centennial Exposition Dining Room." There's the feature song, of course, "Meet Me In St. Louis," plus many other turn-of-the-century hits. Meet Me In St. Louis, Louis Ta-Ra-Ra Boom-De-Ay! In My Merry Oldsmobile You Tell Me Your Dream, I'll Tell You Mine Under the Bamboo Tree
